At Middle College the World Language Department (also known as LOTE - languages other than English) used Rosetta Stone with our upper level language students. We met in the library during class and let our students work through the different levels. In my English ACT prep class students used the computer lab and library to access Kaplan and Study Island which helped them work through many skills on the ACT and end-of-course tests. We also created websites, Prezis, and power point presentations on computers. I have included some of these websites and presentations under class projects on this website.
At Dodge City High School the world language teachers use many forms of technology. We use Duo Linguo the foreign language application on our ipads to warm up every class period. This is a great app for every level learner. Conjugaison is a great app to check verb tenses or learn them. Students are also learning to create E books by compiling the skills they've learned in class into an online book.
