I grew up in the Mississippi Delta. When I was fifteen I took French for the first time and my French teacher made me understand the importance and fun of "thinking globally." I double majored in French and English in college so that I could be like the great teachers I knew in high school. I started my teaching career in August 1996. I taught French and English for three years in Holly Springs, MS at the local public high school. After work each day I commuted to Memphis, TN and completed an MA in French Literature at the University of Memphis.
In 1999 I started teaching French and English in the Memphis City/Shelby County Schools. I have taught every level of middle school and high school English. I have taught French I, II, III and IV and Dual Enrollment French through Lemoyne-Owen College and Christian Brothers University. I taught French 1, 2, 3 and AP French at Dodge City High School in Dodge City, Kansas for three wonderful years. I currently teach all levels of French at Houston Academy in Dothan, Alabama.
I love to cook and travel. My husband is a jazz musician and music professor at Wallace Community College. We love to travel together learning about the culture of new places.
