French 1B Course Description for Parents and Students:
In French 1B students go beyond the basics of the language. The class begins with a review of French 1A and then moves beyond basic verb tenses, general customs, and vocabulary TO describing daily life and the French-speaking world beyond it. Daily sight reading and sight pronunciation exercises become the norm. Students begin writing five-paragraph essays. The students take the National French Exam for the second year in a row. In class we use: maps, white board practice, culture projects, youtube videos, chants, songs, skits, listening comprehension practice, games, dancing, conversation and dialogues, complex text-translations, pronunciation guides, graphic organizers, pictures to describe/manipulatives, worksheets, charts, teaching stations, textbook pages, food and celebrations.
