Games are a fun way to make everyone feel successful at French. I love to use an internet timer on my Smartboard to make students race around the room to put verbs in the correct conjugation order, list numbers, recite a chant or create subject verb agreement on post-it notes on the walls. I also like setting up a "number jump" game where a long piece of yarn is placed on the floor making a wide circle. Pieces of paper with numbers are randomly thrown into the middle of the circle. Everyone stands in a circle outside the yarn and take turns counting in French as they step on the correct number. Flashcards can be games as well. Playing memory or subject-verb agreement games are fun with flashcards. French Monopoly is a board game played on French club day. Before the year is over I would like to create French bingo and French tic-tac-toe. Below is a picture of students playing French Monopoly.
